George H.W. Bush Reads The Sweetest Old Love Letter To Barbara In This Throwback Clip

Married for more than 70 years, George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush have a love that’s lasted a lifetime. The couple wed in January 1945 and went on to have six children ― a beautiful family life that the former president always envisioned, according to one of his love letters to Barbara.

The 41st president read this old love letter aloud to this wife when the two appeared on a 2010 episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

I love you, precious, with all my heart. And to know you love me means my life. How often have I thought about the immeasurable joy that will be ours someday, how lucky our children will be to have a mother like you.

After reading those words, President Bush looked at Mrs. Bush and told her he still feels the same way. The two smiled, but the sweet moment didn’t stop them from joking around as well. Watch above to see the lovebirds banter only the way they can.
